In this workshop, children discover the basics of rhythm, one of the fundamentals of music. Through various activities involving movement, children assimilate such concepts as tempo and different note values. They will also be introduced to the wonderful world of percussion instruments through several hands-on activities.

In this workshop, children will discover the wonderful world of musical instruments through interactive listening activities and musical games. A specialized presenter, trained by JMC, will familiarize your groups with the musical instruments in a classical orchestra—introducing them to brass instruments and trumpets in particular. The presenter will also increase children’s awareness of the important role music plays in film soundtracks, and will work with the children as a group to create a musical composition.

Learn about the musical instruments in a classical orchestra, listen to excerpts of music played by instruments in the brass family, give some music-loving extraterrestrials a chance to experience emotions, and invent a musical language to communicate with them… This is what the workshop holds in store for your students. Through interactive activities and humour, a specialized presenter, trained by JMC, will introduce your group to the various musical concepts addressed in the All Aboard to Planet Alloy concert.
