Family workshops

Some JMC workshops are also offered in the family-friendly atmosphere of Music Week. Over the course of the entire spring break period, make your way to the JMC House or to one of the City of Montreal’s Maisons de la culture for unforgettable moments of musical discovery.

Since the summer of 2008, JMC has been associated with the Montreal International Jazz Festival to bring you two exclusive workshops: a musical awakening workshop for 0-6 year-olds, and a group percussion workshop for 7-12 year-olds. Lasting 15 minutes, each workshop is expertly led by a dynamic presenter who has been specially trained for this purpose by JMC.
Offered non-stop all day long in the children’s musical park, located at the heart of the Jazz Fest’s outdoor site, these workshops have given close to 10,000 children the opportunity to discover and explore several instruments.

It’s an experience that is sure to awaken a life-long interest in music!
