Instrument: Violin
Lizann Gervais is a graduate of the Conservatoire de Musique du Québec in Montréal where she studied violin in Sonia Jelínková’s class. Today, she is a member of the Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke, and also performs with the Trois-Rivières and Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean symphony orchestras. Lizann Gervais also has a great deal of experience in the area of contemporary music. In 2007, she appeared at the Luigi Nono Festival and as part of the Code d’accès series. In February 2009, she continued her adventure with Code d’accès at the Montreal / New Music International Festival with the production An Index of Metals by composer Fausto Romitelli. In October 2009, Lizann Gervais joined the ECM + team for a concert at the Festival internacional Cervantino in Mexico. For the past three years she has been a member of Ensemble Chorum, and recently also joined Ensemble Triosphère. She is continuing her music training this year, this time in the area of jazz, with Helmut Lipsky.
