Instrument: mezzo-soprano


Upcoming engagements for Leigh Ann Martin include a debut in China over the Christmas 2011 season in a nine-city concert tour under the aegis of Canada’s Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques program. She also looks forward to appearing as the mezzo-soprano soloist in Verdi’s Requiem with the Toronto Classical Singers in the spring of 2012.

Past season highlights include Verdi’s Requiem with the Ensemble Sinfonia de Montréal; the role of Concepcion in Maurice Ravel’s opera L’heure espagnole in the spring of 2011, and the role of Bessie in Kurt Weill’s Mahagonny Songspiel in the fall of 2010, both with The Glenn Gould School in Toronto. In the summer 2011 season, Leigh Ann Martin attends the Tanglewood Music Festival Fellowship program, working with world-renowned musicians and performing in numerous concerts. Other highlights include appearances as the mezzo-soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Mass in C with the Toronto Sinfonietta, and the alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah with Toronto’s Pax Christi Chorale.
