Fabrice Marandola

Fabrice Marandola is a Professor of Percussion at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, and a guest instructor at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY (S.U.N.Y.NY).  Prior to his arrival in Canada, Marandola frequently played with the orchestras of Radio France (Orchestre National de France, Nouvel Orchestre Philharmonique of Radio France), and premiered numerous works of contemporary chamber music.  Recipient of the First Prize at the Conservatoire de Paris – where he instructed Pedagogy from 2002-2005 – he also holds a PhD in Ethnomusicology from the Sorbonne, Paris.  Marandola is currently the Associate Director of Artistic Research, and co-leader of the group of research devoted to “Expanded Musical Practice” within the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology of Montreal (CIRMMT).
