Stage director
Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière is the recipient of grants from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and the Canada Council for the Arts. She has a multi-disciplinary background in music, theatre, and historical dance. A member of Le Nouvel Opéra and Artistic Director of Les Jardins Chorégraphiques in Montréal, she is also the Associate Director of the Toronto Masque Theatre. She also teaches gesture and baroque
dance at the Université de Montréal. For some fifteen years now, she has collaborated as a dancer, choreographer, actress, and stage director with a number of ensembles and several festivals in Canada, the United States, and Europe. She has directed a number of productions, including A Moliere Celebration at the Toronto Masque Theatre, Bizet’s Carmen at the Opéra-Théâtre de Rimouski, Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann for Jeunesses Musicales of Canada, Purcell’s The Fairy-Queen for Montreal Baroque, and Purcell’s Dido and Æneas for Apollo’s Fire in Cleveland.
