Christopher Mayell is quickly making his mark as a rising star in concert halls and opera houses across Canada. As a proud member of the Calgary Opera Emerging Artist Ensemble (2007-2009), he performed the roles of Borsa in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Samuel in the Canadian premiere of Moore’s Ballad of Baby Doe, and Brighella in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos (heard on CBC Radio’s Saturday Afternoon at the Opera). Christopher received a Bachelor of Music degree from Queen’s University. He holds a Master of Music and an Artist’s Diploma from The University of Western Ontario, where he studied with voice teacher Torin Chiles and worked closely with coach John Hess.
