Concert Hall

The concert hall in JMC House, designed specifically for performances of chamber music, opened in the spring of 2000. The acoustic qualities of the hall, entirely lined in maple, and its 7’1" Bösendorfer piano, make it an ideal space for to listen to and appreciate a broad spectrum of music composed for an intimate setting.

The concert hall is primarily designed for concert performances and work with new audiences. In keeping with JMC artistic tradition it presents concerts by established artists, with an emphasis on performances of lesser-known works from the chamber music repertoire. Many concerts are designed specifically for young audiences - sometimes even of pre-school age.

The concert hall also promotes artistic creation and production, assisting in the development of innovative musical projects though its artist-in-residence programme.
