Born into an Armenian family of musicians, Anna Kasyan began her musical studies on piano and violin. In 2001 she decided to pursue studies in voice at the State Conservatory in Tbilisi. Over the next two years she took part in more than fifty concerts, which included the roles of Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Norina in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Carolina in Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto and Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte. She is currently enrolled in graduate studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she works with Mireille Alcantara. In 2004 she won first prize at the International Autumn Symphony Competition, and in 2005 an honorary prize at the 12th European Music Competition in Picardie.
