ADDITIONAL INFO
1- What do you most like about music? (What made you choose this
career?)
I don't really think that I chose it, but rather that it chose me!
From a very early age I felt drawn to music and singing. A combination
of events and circumstances have led me to become a singer. What I most
like about music is that it touches my innermost sensibilities, both
sensory and emotional. It was my first aesthetic experience with art.
2- Which are your favourite composers and works (desert island type
music)?
Mozart: as a pianist and singer, discovering this composer was what
most fascinated me as a child. His music is technically challenging as
well as exciting!
I would also have to bring along Bach's Air on the G String. I can't
help it, I simply adore it!
3- Who are your favourite singers and why?
Leontyne Price, because of her grace and elegance, both vocally and
on stage, and her exceptional mastery of this incredible art!
4- What was your most intense musical moment (positive or negative)?
When we had only five days to put together an entire opera
(production, rehearsals, etc.) before the premier... and I was in the
lead role. It was pretty "Rock n' Roll", if you'll permit the
expression!!!
5- Any other hobbies or information you'd like to share about
yourself?
I love having fun with my three-year-old daughter. We sing, we dance,
she tells me all about her day and her make-believe games. I also enjoy
in-line skating, speed walking, yoga, fine wine and, more recently...
gardening!
